Sapient Nitro

This week in Professional Topics we had 3 individuals from Sapient Nitro come to visit us.
Sonja, Head of Hiring; Aiko, Experience Design Lead; and David Senior Art Director.  In the past we have had formal presentations, but they chose to be very informal - it was a great way to actually get a sense of what their culture is all about.

Sapient is a large company, 6000 people worldwide. Sapient Nitro is definitely not a one trick pony, this company does everything from sitemaps and wireframes to largescale interactive productions.

Creative Niche

This past Friday, Stephen Hodges and Adele Wootton from Creative Niche came to speak to us about the art of resume writing and prospects of a job search in a creative community. As I am new to the design industry I found this presentation to be extremely helpful in preparing me for an upcoming job search and what to expect when I am finished the Web Design program.

Sheridan's Athletic Therapy Program

Bad Back?

On Friday October 22nd, our class had the pleasure of having Nicole DiFilippo from Sheridan's Athletic Therapy Program come visit our class.  During her visit, Nicole talked to us about the various problems people in our field can have - carpal tunnel, back stress, posture, and eye strain.  Nicole showed us some exercises for our back and neck, as well as the proper posture while working at a desk and computer.
